A “romantic” first poster for “Joker: Folie à Deux” has been unveiled by Warner Bros. It looks photoshopped. At first, I thought it was fan-made. It doesn’t necessarily entice us into seeing the film.
The $200 million sequel, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, will have a trailer released on April 9. It’s most likely premiering at the Venice Film Festival in September. I guess we should expect the unexpected with this one.
It’s certainly a risk to make the sequel a “jukebox musical,” but that’s what Phillips and company have done here — ‘Folie à Deux’ is rumored to feature, at least, 15 songs and revolve around the music therapy sessions at Arkham Asylum.
“Joker 2: Folie à Deux” will be released in IMAX 70MM on October 4, 2024.
