Warner Bros has landed “The Color Purple” director Blitz Bazawule’s next project which follows the legendary Yasuke, an African warrior who became the first Black Samurai. The film, which was originally reported by The InSneider, is said to invoke shades of “300” and “Max Max.” So, Warners has decided to reteam with Bazawule despite his ‘Color Purple’ having lost them over $40 million. I guess they see something in the guy.
For months, people close to CEO David Ellison had hinted that he would leave if state AGs didn't drop their antitrust suit against the $111 billion Warner Bros. Discovery merger.
