Well, it’s certainly been an interesting year at the movies. I can’t say it’s been as good as 2023, but given that we were coming off 2023’s SAG-AFTRA strikes, the movie quality could have been a lot worse than what we ended up getting.
This will be an open thread where our readers can post their top 10 films of 2024 in the comments section below. You can continue editing your personal list until January 3rd, 2025. After that, the lists will be finalized and used to tabulate our third annual Readers’ Poll of the best films of the year.
Last year, close to 400 lists were submitted by our readers— with Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” topping the poll. Given how our readership has nearly doubled in 2024, I’m expecting a higher number of submissions. Results will be posted on January 6, 2025.
