Yorgos Lanthimos Says He’s Shot Another Film With Emma Stone

September 4, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

I’m trying to figure out what Yorgos Lanthimos meant when he supposedly confirmed to Cineuropa that he’s already shot another film with Emma Stone:

Lanthimos has also shot a new movie in Greece, he shared, countering the rumours that he might not be returning to work in his home country any time soon. For this untitled project, which is also lensed by Robbie Ryan and stars Emma Stone, he says that it is “much simpler and very different in comparison to Poor Things because that story needed that particular style.”

Ok, so an untitled movie. Shot by Robbie Ryan. Starring Emma Stone. This would be Lanthimos/Stone’s fourth collaboration together after the upcoming “AND,” “Poor Things” and “The Favorite.”

Oh, and I’m sure some are thinking that Lanthimos is referring to his 30-minute short “Bleat,” also starring Stone, but the DP on that one is not Ryan and, clearly, it’s already been titled.

With all of this information at our disposal, I’m thinking that Lanthimos did maybe, in fact, shoot a new film with Stone this past Spring in Greece. I’ll update this post if I get any additional details.
