Jane Campion to Shoot New Film Next Year

September 28, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

A friend from Australia is telling me that Jane Campion, at a recent event celebrating her work, mentioned that she’s completed the script for her next film and is aiming to shoot it sometime next year.

I’ve been looking for a link confirming this story, but nobody’s reported on it yet. I’ll update this post whenever I get more details. This is big news considering Campion hadn’t released a film in over 12 years before 2021’s critically acclaimed, and Oscar-winning, “The Power of the Dog.”

Campion is pure class she’s also the director of “The Piano,” one of the truly singular films of the 1990s. She made her mark with two indie films, “An Angel at My Table” and “Sweetie,” both released in 1990 in the U.S.
