All 4 of Wes Anderson’s ‘Henry Sugar’ Films Will Release This Month on Netflix

September 11, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

We weren’t entirely sure what Netflix’s game-plan was in regards to releasing all four of Wes Anderson’s ‘Henry Sugar’ short films.

Now, we can confirm that they’re all getting released this month on the streamer. “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” will release on September 27, “The Swan” the 28th, “The Ratcatcher” the 29th and “Poison” the 30th.

The film is based on four short stories penned by author Roald Dahl and was shot on a stage in 16mm. There’s stop motion animation added into the mix. The actors, which include Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley and Benedict Cumberbatch, are also said to speak directly to the camera in these films.

The first instalment, titled “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival where it was very well reviewed. It has an 83 Metascore and is 95% fresh. It all sounds very different to what Anderson usually does.
