I won’t write too much about the massive critical acclaim that Celine Song’s “Past Lives” has gotten. It’s one of the best-reviewed films of the year. Song’s film is now available on VOD.
Guillermo del Toro is heaping praise upon Song’s film, which could get Best Picture nominated next January. The Mexican filmmaker had this to say:
An exquisite, delicate, powerful piece of Cinema.
I’d like to watch this one again — my first viewing verdict was “good, but not great.” Who else has seen “Past Lives”?
Song is already prepping her next film, it’s called “Materialists,” it’s ready for a fall shoot, and has been SAG exempted. No plot or casting details have been revealed just yet. We’ll keeping an eye out on this one.
