Would you believe it if I told you 76-year-old Sylvester Stallone is set to return for a sequel to his 1993 action thriller “Cliffhanger”?
That’s exactly what was announced this afternoon, with “Angel Has Fallen” filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh set to direct from a script by Mark Bianculli (Hunters).
No plot details were revealed. Stallone will reprise his character of Ranger Gabriel “Gabe” Walker, from the original film, which was directed by Renny Harlin.
I will say this much, there aren’t a lot of 76 year old rock climbers. A juiced up Stallone might be the sole exception. He’ll need to maybe up his Human Growth Hormone dosage for this one.
Edward Berger seems to have settled on what comes next. His Lance Armstrong biopic, starring Austin Butler, is now holding casting calls, with production eyed for January.
