I’m just about to enter a screening, but news just broke that Denzel Washington is set to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Gladiator” sequel.
This is a huge get for the movie, nabbing one of the best and most-renowned actors in the world. Washington had previously worked with Scott on 2007’s “American Gangster.”
Washington is set to join a cast that includes Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal. Denzel is rumored to play the man who trains Paul Mescal for the gladiatorial battles, a mentor, of sorts. Production is scheduled to commence in Morocco this coming May.
