‘Furiosa’ Delayed to June 2024?

December 12, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

I’m hearing there’s a bit of a delay when it comes to George Miller’s “Furiosa” hitting its May 24, 2024 release date. No announcement just yet, but that date could change.

The goal was always to release the film a few weeks before its Cannes premiere, which has been eyed by Warner Bros for almost a year now. Will it make it on the Croisette? I believe it might, but Miller’s post-production work is taking longer than expected.

Meanwhile, an awfully tacky poster for “Furiosa” was released yesterday (below). It looks too chaotic. Angles all over the place. Zero attention to composition. Of course, a poster does not make a movie, but I expected something better than this.

The trailer hinted at “Furiosa” being a glossier “Fury Road,” with less practical effects. I bet John Seale’s absence might make a difference. Chris Hemsworth going gonzo as Warlord Dementus looks to be a highlight. Will Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperatus Furiosa backfire? Legendary game creator Hideo Kojima is a fan, he recently admitted to having seen the trailer 140 times.
