UPDATE: Roth answered back the email that I had sent him on Friday — “The title will have to remain a dark star for now. Suffice it to say at 78 I am trying to find some answers to the unanswerable”.
EARLIER: “Killers of the Flower Moon” screenwriter Eric Roth was a guest on the “A Script Apart” podcast. At some point in the interview, Roth mentions that he wrote a screenplay for Denis Villeneuve in secret. It's about “space and time”.
I just wrote a movie for Denis Villeneuve… We’ll see what ends up happening with it, but it’s about space and time, and it’s very lonely. It’s certainly about eternity.
It could be Villeneuve’s long-gestating adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s “Rendezvous with Rama” .. Villeneuve has been attached to ‘Rama’ since before Cleopatra was announced. I’ve emailed Roth to see if I can get some additional details. If he answers back, I’ll update this post accordingly.
