According to Daniel Richtman, Kimberly Pierce will be directing and writing a remake of 1981 film noir “Body Heat,” via Warner Bros. Bad idea, if true. The original was a product of its time. Pierce has been one of the most disappointing filmmakers, especially since her shattering 1999 debut “Boy’s Don’t Cry.” It’s been a struggle for her ever since. She’s directed just two films in the last two and a half decades — 2008’s “Stop-Loss” and her 2013 remake of “Carrie.”
