According to Variety, and it’s quite clear by just looking at the current numbers, “Oppenheimer” will not be breaking the billion dollar mark at the global box office. It should finish its run at around $950M. However, a theatrical re-release in IMAX and/or awards attention —such as Oscar nominations— could help the film eventually cross the billion mark late this year or early in 2024. The film currently sits at $934 million, making it the second highest-grossing R-rated film of all-time.
