The Best Films of 2022, So Far

October 29, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

I’ve gotten emails these last few months asking how my best of 2022 list is shaping up. Honestly, I haven’t even thought about what my top 10 would look like.

I decided to look through this year’s movie schedule, from January to December, and these are the 35 highlights, so far (in no particular order):

Crimes of the Future, Happening, Triangle of Sadness, Watcher, Funny Pages, Sundown, The Banshees of Inisherin, TAR, Glass Onion, Apollo 10 1/2, Nitram, Kimi, Aftersun, God’s Country, Resurrection, Vortex, Nope, Navalny, Armageddon Time, Hustle, The Northman, Elvis, Pleasure, Living, Dinner in America, Blonde, De Humanis Corpis Fabrica, How to Blowup a Pipeline, Pacifiction, The Fabelmans, Boy From Heaven, As Bestas, Barbarian, Fire of Love

In the overpraised category, I’ve got to give major shout outs to “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Women Talking” “X” and “After Yang.”

There’s a little more than 60 days left in the movie year, still a lot to be seen, but, save for “Babylon” and a few others, most of the films with quality potential have been screened. I’ll probably be able to post my final top 10 list by the first week of December.

Time for our readers to chime in on their own personal favorites. What have been the 5-10 best film experiences of 2022?
