This is a major fall from grace.
Variety‘s Elizabeth Wagmeister and Sasha Urban are reporting that Armie Hammer is now working at a hotel resort in the Cayman Islands, in a cubicle and reportedly specializing in selling timeshares.
“A source tells Variety that Hammer … [is] totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”
“My friends’ parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands and Armie Hammer was their concierge I’m still not over it,” wrote a witness, before deleting the tweet.
Vanity Fair also reports that Robert Downey Jr. is providing Hammer a temporary place to stay, and financial assistance until he gets back on his feet.
In the blink of an eye, Hammer went from being Hollywood’s hottest new actor to working in a cubicle. Whoever tells you there is no such thing as being “canceled” has absolutely no sense of what’s actually going on right now.
You have to feel bad for the guy, whatever his sins were, he’s trying to make an honest living here, providing for his family and keeping himself busy.
