‘Morbius’ Reviews Are Very Bad; Worst Marvel Movie Ever Made?

March 31, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

I was planning on skipping tonight’s all-press screening of Marvel’s “Morbius.” Now, I’m definitely intrigued by the Razzie-worthy reviews. Sometimes you just want to watch a trainwreck on-screen and, by the looks of it, “Morbius” is a major trainwreck.

On Rotten Tomatoes, with 84 reviews already in, the movie is at 18% rotten. On Metacritic, the film currently has a tepid 36 MC score. This bodes terribly for Sony, who invested more than $100 million, including extensive reshoots, on “Morbius.”

Rolling Stone’s David Fear asks, “Is Morbius the worst Marvel movie ever made? In an alternate universe without The New Mutants, the answer would likely be yes ”

Jared Leto stars as scientist Dr. Michael Morbius, who bungles up an experiment and becomes a vampire. The movie is supposed to be a spin-off of the spider-verse, but Spider-Man does not show up here at all.

“Morbius” was supposed to be released in July 2020. From there, its release date kept getting changed. Here we are, close to two years later, and critical fangs are out to get it.
