NYFCC: ‘TÁR’ Wins Best Film [Updated]

December 2, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

UPDATED LIST OF WINNERS

BEST FILM: TÁR

BEST DIRECTOR: S. S. Rajamouli (RRR)

BEST ACTRESS: Cate Blanchett (TÁR)

BEST ACTOR: Colin Farrell (After Yang and The Banshees of Inisherin)

BEST SCREENPLAY: Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin)

BEST INTERNATIONAL FILM: EO

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Claudio Miranda (Top Gun: Maverick)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Keke Palmer (Nope)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once)

BEST DOCUMENTARY: All the Beauty & the Bloodshed

BEST FIRST FILM: Aftersun (Charlotte Wells)

BEST ANIMATED FILM: Marcel the Shell With Shoes On

EARLIER: The New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) announces its winners this morning. What do you think they’ll go with? I believe the Best Picture prize will be between “TÁR,” “Aftersun” and “The Banshees of Inisherin.”

Best Actress seems to be a race between Cate Blanchett (TÁR) and Danielle Deadwyler (Till). Vicky Krieps (Corsage) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once) both have an outside shot.

Best Actor I’m thinking is going to be between Collin Farrel (Banshees), Paul Mescal (Aftersun) or Bill Nighy (Living). There are some rumblings that a certain block of the NYFCC voters will be pushing hard for Tom Cruise (Top Gun: Maverick”).

Best Supporting Actor has got to be between Brendan Gleeson (Banshees) and Judd Hirsch (Fabelmans). I would love to see Anthony Hopkins (Armageddon Time) pull off the upset. Supporting Actress could be Kerry Condon (Banshees) or Nina Hoss (TÁR) or, my dark horse pick, Gabrielle Union (The Inspection).
