Now that “Babylon” is officially in theaters, it’s time to gather up some reactions from the WoR faithful. Readers, what did you think? I for one was very excited to witness Chazelle setting Paramount’s money on fire in such glorious fashion. It’s the kind of big swing that vigkf sink a studio, reminescent of Heaven’s Gate. Maybe someone should have told Chazelle to chill the f*ck out when making this movie, but, hey, that’s part of its unending charms. There plenty of passion, bravura and some flaws. Margot Robbie is great. Some incredible sequences show up throughout. What’s with the ending though? Fact of the matter is that there’s never been a movie like “Babylon” before — it’s a hard-wired, coked-up celebration of cinematic excess.
