Paul Thomas Anderson’s producer and casting director Cassandra Kulukundis has a post up confirming what we suspected a few months ago: PTA is working on a new project.
The above casting call is looking for a teenage girl who excels at Martial Arts. The big gimme is that this same CC claims that a July 2023 production date is being eyed. Rejoice!
The production will again take place in and around Los Angeles, PTA has shot most of his films and set them in California. His last movie, “Licorice Pizza,” was set in his favourite spot, the San Fernando Valley.
“Licorice Pizza” took just a few weeks to shoot, but that was a smaller scaled film. No word yet on what this one will be about, let alone its scope. I had reported in October that PTA was already doing low-key auditions for this next film, whether it’s the rumoured Denzel Washington 1940s jazz film remains to be seen.
