Paul Thomas Anderson's Latest Has Started Filming in California, With Working Title ‘Soggy Bottom'

August 23, 2020 Jordan Ruimy

We have now gotten word that Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film, supposedly titled “Soggy Bottom,” has started filming in California with the working title “Soggy Bottom.”

The thespian who has delivered this news also mentions in his report that Principal Photography began about a week and a half ago, with a shooting schedule of 3+ months expected. Everyone, from the cast to the crew, will be COVID tested weekly.

There is no stage shooting planned for the film, as everything will be shot on location — I expect nothing else from PTA. Bradley Cooper could also be spotted on-set. There is no other additional information on the rest of the cast, but you can bet we’ll be getting more details in the coming weeks.

As we’ve mentioned in the past few months, the latest, and highly-secretive, film from the director of “There Will Be Blood” and “The Master” takes place in Southern California during the 1970s and follows a kid actor’s teen years attending high school in the San Fernando Valley.
