I cringed watching this trailer. Mostly because I was looking forward to John Turturro’s ”The Jesus Rolls” a spin-off of his ‘Big Lebowski’ character Jesus Quintana and remake of Bertrand Blier‘s Going Places (’74). They seem to be one and the same.
The synopsis says the film is about “sexually depraved misfits” (played by Turturro, Bobby Cannavale and Audrey Tautou) who go on a joyride of romance and crime. The film also costars Pete Davidson, Jon Hamm. Susan Sarandon (in the Jeanne Moreau role) and Sonia Braga.
The trailer (below) feels a little “off.” This film will not compare to the 1998 classic that it derives from? No way, no how. Screen Media will be distributing and releasing Turturro’s three-year-old film on February 28th.
