Trailer for ‘The Dead Don't Die': Jim Jarmusch's Deadpan Zombie Comedy

April 1, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

Consider me surprised by the deadpan sense of comedic humor Jim Jarmusch is aiming for here, at least judging by the just-released trailer for his upcoming “The Dead Don’t Die.”

The movie has a dream cast which includes Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Selena Gomez, Tom Waits, and RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, among many more.

Jarmusch is coming off having released his 2016 masterpiece “Paterson,” it seems like the writer-director has decided to go a little less serious here, albeit in a very deadpan manner, by reuniting with close friends and making a zombie comedy. Nothing wrong with that.

Jarmusch has had 11 movies debut at the Cannes Film Festival, I bet “The Dead Don’t Die” will premiere there again at next month’s edition of the festival.

“The Dead Don’t Die” is heading into theaters on June 14th.

THE DEAD DON'T DIE - the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Selena Gomez, Carol Kane, Austin Butler, Luka Sabbat and Tom Waits. Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch.
