Page Six writer Richard Johnson has reported a “source” claiming Martin Scorsese‘s "The Irishman" could very well cost upwards of $175 million, without even the marketing involved in such endeavors.
Last month Deadline had reported and provided us with an overall clearer picture of the expensive post-production costs of "The Irishman":
“we are now hearing from multiple sources that the film’s budget is well over $125M and more in the $140M range (and climbing).”
Forbes writer Scott Mendelson more or less confirmed our suspicions.
Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, Harvey Keitel and Ray Romano are part of the Irishman cast, which is said to be released in 2019.
The film is quite clearly the most anticipated film of the decade for many cinephiles who have been craving for another Scorsese/De Niro partnership. The cinematic director/actor duo have not made a film together since 1995's "Casino," their past collaborations also include "Goodfellas," "Raging Bull," "The King of Comedy," Mean Streets," "Taxi Driver," and "Cape Fear."
