It's safe to call the “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack iconic, no? The 2014 film would have not been the pop-culture thrill ride that it was without the catchy pop of Blue Swede‘s “Hooked on a Feeling, or, really, any of the other dozen or so songs used in the film. Most of them were what would be qualified as "seventies pop" and director James Gunn hasn't been shy about his love for that era's top 40 tunes.
When a sequel was announced the question most fans had was, surprisingly, not about what would be next for the quirky and loveable bunch of characters used in the first film, but was actually about the film's soundtrack. What songs would Gunn be using to tell his story? We finally have our answer, the director has revealed, on Twitter no less, the "set list" for "Guardians of the Galay Vol. 2."
The film had actually wrapped its six-month production in January 2026, and it’s been in post-production for the last eight months. Fincher is well known for taking his time in the editing room.
