The Berlin Film Festival announced the premiere of a new short directed by Todd Field that expands the “TÁR” universe, it’s called “The Fundraiser.”

James Cameron has been doing press left and right for the ‘Avatar’ sequel. However, it’s an interview on the Smartless podcast that caught my attention. In it he reveals having had discussions about bringing the “Terminator” franchise back to life:

I’m not quite ready to call “Avatar: The Way of Water” a failure just yet. I’d wait it out until next weekend which is when we’ll truly see if James Cameron’s movie has the legs needed to fully succeed. At least, that’s what many seem to be implying.

Back in November, It had been reported that Quentin Tarantino was working on an 8-episode limited series. It was all revealed on Tom Segura’s podcast. Tarantino’s series would premiere in early 2023. Plot details are as-of-yet unknown.

Steven Spielberg is set to receive the honorary Golden Bear at this coming February’s 73rd edition of the Berlin Film Festival.

I didn’t think Luca Guadagnino’s “Bones and All” was fully successful in its attempt to mix the road movie genre with horror and romance, but the best thing I can say is that it was a fairly interesting concept. It never really felt dull or uninspired.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” nabbbed an estimated 3-day opening of $135M. That’s the 6th best domestic December debut.

This past November, THR reported that “Avatar: The Way of Water” had a price tag estimated at $350-$400 million. I had speculated that it might be the most expensive movie ever made. Nobody spoke about that in the film media.

Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon” will be released on December 23rd. There’s already plenty of anticipation for this film, a demented mix of “Fellini’s Satyricon,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Singin’ in the Rain.”

It seems as though Darren Aronofsky has already set up his next movie. According to a Production Weekly listing, It's called “Postcards from Earth” and will start shooting in L.A. on March 14th
