Riz Ahmed has reportedly joined the cast of director Armando Iannucci’s next film, “Growth.” Here’s the synopsis I’ve gathered:
A tech drama following the founder of a Snapchat-like social media platform, who races to deal with the company’s exponential growth and devastating leak of users’ private content.
A Production Weekly posting mentions that Viola Davis and Bradley Cooper are also rumored to be part of the cast. Given that Iannucci likes his ensembles, I wouldn’t be surprised if these rumors turn out to be true.
Iannucci is the creator behind HBO’s “Veep.” He’s also dabbled in political film satire with acclaimed works such as 2009’s “In the Loop” and 2017’s “The Death of Stalin.” All of these works are well worth checking out, Iannucci is one of the best political satirists in film.
