Andrew Dominik’s ‘Blonde’ Clocks in at Almost 3 Hours

June 16, 2022 Jordan Ruimy

Today seems to be “Blonde” in the movie world.

I’m being told that Andrew Dominik’s upcoming Marilyn Monroe biopic is a whopping 2 hours and 46 minutes in length.

Not only has Dominik gotten the NC-17 rating he desired, but he’s also getting Netflix to release a near 3-hour long movie. Unprecedented and very good news for those who were rooting for him to get some kind of final cut.

Joyce Carol Oates’ book, which the movie is adapting, is around 800 pages long. This isn’t necessarily surprising news in the least bit, but you have to imagine that Netflix is super excited to finally get rid of this one.

Chayse Irvin Is being credited as the DP for this film. Today’s teaser hinted that a majority of “Blonde” will be shot in black-and-white within a 1.37 aspect ratio. There also seems to be the ccasional color sequence used for replicating some of her more iconic moments.

EDIT: Almost a half hour after posting this, Netflix has made it official that “Blonde” is indeed 166 minutes.
