The 78th edition of Cannes Film Festival has announced its lineup. Let’s just say that there were a lot of missing titles this year, and internal drama, as many marquee directors were seemingly rejected.

Matt Johnson, who helmed the excellent “Blackberry,” is set to direct an adaptation of the Hasbro game “Magic: The Gathering.” Why? Well, $$$$ — he wants to get in on the “Barbie” action.

The adaptation is set to start production in July. As announced by Lionsgate, Francis Lawrence will be directing the film with Billy Ray writing the script.
