The Geoff Johns era will really start at the WB with "Aquaman," and "Wonder Woman 1984."
Directed by James Wan (“The Conjuring” “Insidious: Chapter 2,” “Furious 7“), "Aquaman" is a film of the utmost importance for the DCEU. Wan is no slouch and this could mean the beginning of interesting director partnerships for the superhero company, alongside Patty Jenkins and "Wonder Woman," and Matt Reeves' "The Batman."
“James has done an incredible job with his team,” spouted Warner Bros. film chief Toby Emmerich to EW this week. “The film is taking you to a different place and imagining the underwater world in a way you haven’t seen before.”
The cast includes Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera; Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
“Aquaman” opens on December 21, 2018.
