George Lucas saw Rogue One two days ago. Gareth Edwards: "I can die happy now. He really liked the movie. It was the most important review to me."

According to ComicBookEdwards was doing press on Friday when he was suddenly pulled away for an "important phone call" and it was from George Lucas himself. Lucas called and spoke with "Rogue One" director Gareth Edwards for about half an hour, a conversation Edwards said he will "cherish and take to my grave."

I think George has likely cooled off a bit from his initial regret of the Disney sale. It must also help that this film is clearly trying to expand on his vision and embraces the prequels as part of the canon with the actors who returned. I can't exactly blame the guy for being a little sour after Disney threw his episode 7 ideas out and decided to soft reboot the saga considering Star Wars is practically his life's work. I worked on the film and this is positive news for me to hear too.
