Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’: VFX Not Ready?

Jordan Peele’s “Nope” is a bit more than a month away from being released. It test-screened again a few weeks ago in Long Beach, California and the most was that of a moviegoer puzzled by what seemed like a heavy lack of VFX completion.

I won’t lie that I know much about how long it takes to complete effects on such a big movie, but isn’t Peele cutting it a little short on time?

A tweet from Big Screen Leaks reads:

If NOPE can be ready for its July release date, it'll be a miracle. For a movie that's relying on VFX very heavily, it doesn't sound like they're nowhere near completion.

According to a source, the film seems to be a bigger budgeted popcorn version of “Signs,” with sprinkles of “Twister” and an emphasis on chasing UFOs. Popcorn fun. There are no big allegories. Maybe you can read into the themes of how you can avoid UFO death? The Xenophobia that comes with the unknown?

“Nope” is being released on July 22nd, 2022. A peculiarly imagined poster has been stamped in almost every movie theatre in the country.
