I don’t know if Oliver Stone has taken too many sugar cookies, but he’s decided to go to bat for John M. Chu’s “Wicked,” citing it as the best film he’s seen this year. No, really. The filmmaker behind “Platoon” and “JFK” is madly in love with Chu’s musical.

Speculation arose after an exclusive report from Korean news outlet OSEN, which dropped today. “Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio will be appearing in the Netflix mega hit Squid Game 3,” it said. 

This Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni feud is turning into total Hollywood grotesquerie. I still believe this all has to do with who gets to nab the rights to the ‘It Ends With Us’ sequel, which Baldoni currently owns.

Denis Villeneuve hasn’t even shot “Dune Messiah” yet, but Warner Bros and Legendary are already planning ahead in milking this franchise to death.

Robert Eggers has confirmed that “Nosferatu” will be released on 4K Blu-Ray in an extended cut. Is it the near 3-hour version that was test screened earlier in the year? Quite possibly.

Here’s IndieWire’s annual survey where directors pick their favorite films of the year. This year, there were 65 participants, including Edward Berger, Robert Eggers, Coralie Fargeat, Todd Field, Luca Guadagnino, Radu Jude, and David Lowery.

Apparently, Sony is developing an “Air Force One” sequel, or maybe it’s just a reboot? Scooper Daniel Richtman isn’t quite sure either, but he’s hearing Harrison Ford, 82, who starred in the original, might be starring in this one.

Is my hearing right? Has “The Town” podcast’s Matt Belloni just reported that Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film was “punted” to 2026 by Warner Bros? That’s what he’s saying at the 13-minute mark.

This has been one strange awards season. Unlike, other years, I’m struggling to believe that we have a frontrunner (“Anora”). In fact, there might not even be one this year.

Jason Momoa, formerly Aquaman, has been cast as Lobo in “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” (via Deadline). It should be noted that THR’s Bory Kit had originally reported the potential casting of Momoa in 2023.

Orson Welles, who died in 1985, had several unfinished films, including “Don Quixote.” There is an update, and it’s a positive one. Welles’ vision might finally, maybe, be coming to the big screen.
