First image of Michael Keaton in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as The Vulture

Directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), this new Spider-Man film is actually the first time Sony Pictures—which owns the rights to the Spider-Man character— and Marvel Studios have collaborated. Hell, I believe this is the first time Marvel Studios has collaborated with any other studio. Given that Sony is currently struggling and having financial problems, this couldn't have come at a better time for them as it could help sort some of the problems they've been having in finding a hit movie. Marvel is doing the creative work here, helping Sony in making a good Spider-Man movie, this also means that Spider-Man can enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The villain here is Adrian Toomes, as played by Michael Keaton. Toomes runs a company that, here's the kicker, provides cleanup for the streets of NYC after all the mess is left by superhero fighting. Supposedly in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark angers Toomes when he starts a government organization that does the exact same thing and steals business away from Toomes' company.

Look for a spanking new trailer tomorrow.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7th.
