Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson exiting Columbia Pictures offices after signing deal to make Bottle Rocket, November 1994

The duo turned up for a meeting at producer James L. Brooks' office wearing white shorts. They ended up penning a $5 Million deal to make "Bottle Rocket," which also included an editor, cinematographer, tech crew etc. The above photograph is them jumping for joy leaving Brooks' office that very day.

According to Konbini the duo met “doing a playwriting class together: this thing where everybody, about nine of us, sat around a table and discussed plays. And I always sat in one corner, not really at the table, and Owen always sat in another corner, not really at the table, and we never spoke the whole semester.
