'Sing' is an enjoyable, if not, slight romp that satirizes 'American Idol' and 'The Voice'

I saw "Sing" at TIFF this past September. It's a mildly enjoyable romp that somewhat satirizes, but also warms up to, singing contest reality shows such as "American Idol" and "The Voice." Some of the jokes have a major sting to them and others just fall flat. The songs are great, a lot of catchy top 40 radio and they must have payed a lot of dough to secure the rights to use them. It probably won't be a critical darling, but I can see some hefty box-office in its future. For now we have this trailer which does capture the vibe that Director Garth Jennings is trying to convey.
