Oscar Poker

This morning's Oscar Poker podcast with Hollywood Elsewhere's Jeffrey Wells was all about the Venice, Telluride and Toronto film festivals. Here’s the mp3. We chatted about yet another unpredictable awards season. Nothing is at seems again this year. There is no clear front runner, and there probably won't be, just like last year. The reason for this? Changing Oscar voter demographics, the new academy is now a little richer in multiculturalism, they are more woke, more aware of what represents the most important social and political statements in American cinema. That's what it's all about now.
