'Star Wars': Boba Fett Movie in the Works With James Mangold

Earlier last year, an insider had revealed this about a possible Boba Fett movie:

"Rest assured, the Boba Fett movie is not dead.As far as I can tell, the movie will most likely not be an origin story. It sounds as though Fett is just one important component to the movie as opposed to the central character."

Today it was revealed the movie is very much happening, and that James Mangold has been hired to direct.

THR:

"James Mangold is writing and will direct a Star Wars stand-alone movie centered on Boba Fett, the feared bounty hunter and fan-favorite character."

Mangold, if you remember, directed "Logan," a great superhero movie, which  happened to be rated R. Fett will NOT have that rating. A PG-13 stamp is expected for this endeavor which has Mangold, one of the rare Hollywood filmmakers that has successfully managed to balance art and commerce hand in hand, tackling a franchise. His list of films includes "Cop Land," "Girl, Interrupted," "Identity," "Walk the Line," "3:10 to Yuma," and "Logan."
