Jacques Audiard's Foray Into American Cinema 'The Sisters Brothers' Starring Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, and Jake Gyllenhaal

In a nutshell, I would describe this trailer as a sort of Coen-esque riff on the Western, which was done rather conventionally by the Brothers back in 2009 with "True Grit," a film that almost completely stripped the Coen in Coen-esque.  French director Jacques Audiard ("A Prophet," "Rust and Bone," "Dheepan") is a talented, gritty filmmaker, but this is his first American film and I really hope it turns out ok for him. He's always been a straightforward filmmaker, using his strength for storytelling to involve you into his stories. What I sense from "The Sisters Brothers," a western set during the California Gold Rush, looks to have much less of his voice. John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix star as Eli and Charlie Sisters; costarring Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed, Rutger Hauer and Carol Kane
